Director of Nursing Basics – Recertification
This advanced recertification course provides Directors of Nursing with a comprehensive, practice‑ready update on the most critical clinical, regulatory, and operational domains in long‑term care. Through evidence‑based instruction, case‑based application, and interdisciplinary problem‑solving, participants will strengthen their ability to lead high‑performing nursing teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve resident outcomes.

The course integrates six essential areas of DON responsibility: Care Planning & Assessment, Infection Prevention, Fall Prevention, Pressure Injury Management, Medication Management, and QAPI/QAA. Participants will learn to apply current CMS requirements, implement high‑reliability clinical systems, and lead interdisciplinary teams in reducing risk and elevating quality of care.

The recertification is valid for 2 years, at which time, you must re-certify.

This is a self-paced course, once you register you will receive instructions for course completion.

Prerequisite – You must have taken the Pathway Health – Director of Nursing Basics Certification Course and have a valid certification.
