Course Description:

The Minimum Data Set (MDS) is a powerful tool for implementing standardized assessment and for facilitating care management in nursing homes. The Optional State Assessment “OSA” is a tool that is only used for reimbursement for specific states. This course will review the content of this assessment and scheduling guidelines and Minnesota specific standards.

Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

1. Discuss the scheduling requirements with the optional state assessment
2. Review the criteria for a significant change
3. Examine each section of the OSA and Section S.
4. Discuss the transition on October 1st, 2023.
